Caregiver needed for a senior male in West Vancouver, BC
Job description:
Salary $20.00/hour. Permanent full time 40 hours/week.
Employment requirements - English is required. Mandarin is an asset. Education - High school graduation certificate. Experience - minimum 2 years. Drug test, Medical exam, criminal record check, adult abuse registry, bondable, immunization records, and work references required. Work under pressure, bending, crouching, kneeling, walking, combination of sitting, standing and walking. Physically demanding. Must be able to handle weight of between 61 and 80 kg. Work in employer’s home. Room and board provided. Must be dependable, organized, flexible, reliable and punctual. Must exercise good judgement and initiative. Other skills required are - mend and iron clothing and linens, administer medications, administer bedside and personal care, launder clothing and household linens. Assist in regular exercise, eg., walk. Provide personal care and companionship. Plan therapeutic diets and menus. Prepare and serve meals. Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties. Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene.
Credentials - Geriatic Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate, CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificat.
Work setting - Optional accommodation available at no extra charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment. Public transportation is available.
