Job summary:

Spokes Bicycle Rentals in Vancouver is hiring for a full time permanent Assistant Manager. Spokes Bicycle Rentals has been serving Vancouver locals and tourists since 1938. With a convenient location at the entrance to spectacular Stanley Park, Spokes is the perfect starting point to get out riding on the world famous seawall and beyond. We have knowledgeable and friendly staff to help our customers through the process and to get them on the right bike so they can enjoy their ride.

Job description:


  • Start date: ASAP
  • Pay rate: $30.5/hrs
  • Benefits: Extended health Care
  • Hours per week: 35, may have to work overtime if needed.
  • Work Shift: It can be daytime, evening, weekends and/or holidays
  • Location: 1798 W. Georgia St., Vancouver, BC


Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Mentoring and motivating team members to help drive sales while delivering exceptional customer service
  • Acting as the liaison between customers, sales, mechanic and velvet team and management team
  • Support ongoing performance management of the team
  • Creating and monitoring mechanic, valet and cashier's operations schedule
  • Managing the overall workflow of the team
  • Ensure all elements of the Spokes experience meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Manage and solve any customer situation that comes up, including theft, damage, and injury and escalate it to the manager if needed
  • Working with the manager to deliver promotional programs
  • Ability to execute any transaction and troubleshoot transaction issues as they arise
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all equipment
  • Assist in developing and implementing of schedules and procedures for safety procedures and preventive maintenance practices
  • Coordinate daily customer service operations
  • Staying up-to-date with detailed knowledge on new and existing products


Job requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2-3 years of experience in customer service/sales or in the bike rental industry
  • Experience in the bike rental industry or related is an asset
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Good oral and written communication in English
  • Proficient in MS Office
