Archway Construction Ltd. in Burnaby is hiring for full-time permanent Drywall Installers. Job description:

Start date: ASAP

Pay rate: $27-28/hrs (negotiable based on experience)

Hours per week: 40

Number of Vacancy: 2

Location of work: Various locations

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets;
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife; Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound;
• Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings;
• Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry;
• Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications

Job requirements:

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 3-5 years

Credentials: Drywall installer and finisher trade certification is an asset

Language of work: English

Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills

Able to meet deadlines and schedules

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Combination of sitting, standing, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Physically demanding

Personal Suitability: Flexibility, Effective interpersonal skills

Work Site Environment: Noisy; Dusty; Hot; Cold
