Salary: $23.25/hr ($48,360 annually)
Overtime: As per BC Provincial Standards – for over 8hrs/day; 40 hrs/wk
Observed Holidays: As outlined on labour.gov.bc.ca – 10 holidays/yr
Medical: BC MSP premiums payable by employee
Language: Basic English Language is required
Education: None
REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program/Completion of college or other program in cooking for cooks
Or
- 2-3 years of related experience
Job Duties:
- Prepare, cook and complete meals
- Have knowledge of and be able to cook North Indian curries; know how to cook all the curries on our menu
- Curry cook should be able to make curry dishes like shahi paneer, paneer tikka, dal makhani, butter chicken, karahi chicken, goat curry mix veg. etc.
- Pay close attention to special requests (preferences, allergies, religious restrictions)
- Determine the size of the portions served
- Assist with planning new menu items
- Assist with scheduling kitchen helpers
- Oversee kitchen operations
- Clean kitchen and work area
- Work with limited supervision
